The Artist: Yongoh Kim
Yongoh Kim represents a relatively recent phenomenon of available to cryptoartists live nomadic lives, earning crypto for the art to fund their journey's. As Kim travels, we are rewarded with illustrations of Kim's exploration of exotic locations like Thailand, India, China and Europe. What an extraordinary time we live in where artists can create and mint art for sale, while living a Nomadic life of inspiration. When not travelling, Kim lives in Korea working as an illustrator, painter and video maker.
The Collection: Travel Thai
Travel Thai is a collection of illustrated artworks of his time in Thailand. There are 13 artworks, available as a five edition mint. We are transported back to our carefree youth through Kim's eyes. Moments on the beach at Maya Bay, climbing up to the Phi Phi viewpoint and heading through the intensity of Khao San Road are all shared memories we get to experience through Kim's work.
A Specific Artwork: Ko_Pha_Ngan
An untouched piece of paradise memorialised through a bright cacophony of bush fuses together the hallucination of memory with the reality of place. A singular bar on the mountain orientates us to the angle Kim has chosen to illustrate. While a photograph captures an accurate display of a time and place, Kim has captured the vibe of the island that puts many who visit into a trance like state.
